Monday, March 4th TYPED ROUGH DRAFT #1 OF ALL 5 PARAGRAPHS WITH MINIMUM OF 3 CITATIONS DUE TODAY! (Due beginning of class!)Objectives:
  • Using the organizer, evaluate the effectiveness of your own research paper--including its proper format, information, word choice and grammar/spelling
    • apply feedback of corrections for improvement.
  • evaluate the effectiveness of a peer's paper--offer feedback for corrections/improvement.

In-class procedures:
Homework:
  • Update/make corrections to paper--create a "rough draft #2" due beginning of class Thursday.
  • Final Research Paper due one week from today, Monday, March 11th.

Tuesday, March 5th (Computer Lab 221) *Computer lab availability today! Be ready to take advantage of it!
Objectives:
  • Correctly format first page of Final Draft in MLA format.
  • Organize bib cards and source information into a Works Cited page
  • Sign-up for an available mini-conferences time slot with Mrs. Tolin-- signup sheet available in class, hanging outside of classroom door

In-class procedures:
  • *In computer lab:Teacher-led demonstration ("Practicing with Easybib" Assignment) of how to organize first page of final draft (using MLA format) AND Works Cited Page creation (using easybib.com). Students may sit at their own computers and observe the teacher's demonstration (model) on the projected computer screen. Mrs. Tolin will pause periodically throughout the demonstration for students to immediately apply what was demonstrated onto their own computer screen and paper.
  • With any additional time, type self/peer edit corrections to paper in order to create rough draft #2.

Homework:
  • Update/make corrections to paper---create a typed "rough draft #2" and Works Cited page by Thursday.



Wednesday, March 6th (Computer Lab 221) *Computer lab availability today! Be ready to take advantage of it!Objectives:
  • Prepare Works Cited page using proper MLA format

In-class procedures:
  • *In computer lab: Finish creating Works Cited page and/or updating paper, making corrections.
  • Sign-up for an available mini-conferences time slot with Mrs. Tolin-- signup sheet available in class, hanging outside of classroom door
Homework:
  • Prepare for Research paper's final due date: March 11th.



Thursday, March 7th CORRECTED, ROUGH DRAFT #2 WITH TYPED WORKS CITED PAGE DUE TODAY! (Due beginning of class!)
Objectives:
  • Using the rubric, evaluate correctness of self and peer's rough draft (grammar, spelling, organization, effectiveness) and Works Cited page.

In-class procedures:
  • Self/Peer Edit Day #2
  • 2nd half of class: Computer Lab 221 to make corrections.

  • Sign-up for an available mini-conferences time slot with Mrs. Tolin-- signup sheet available in class, hanging outside of classroom door

Homework:
  • Papers submitted early tomorrow will earn extra credit.


Friday, March 8th: (Computer lab 220)
Objectives:
  • Prepare final papers for publication and submission for final grade.
  • Compare personal work to rubric to self-evaluate before submission.

In-class procedures:
  • *In computer lab: Finish/Continue typing final paper and Works Cited page, making corrections as necessary.

Homework:
  • Finish Final Draft (including Works Cited page) due Monday, 3/11/13



Coming up next week:

  • Monday, March 11th: Final Draft of paper due by end of day (No class period time provided). Emailed assignments WILL NOT be accepted.
  • We will resume our aggressive OAA-prep sessions and Word Wisdom next week!
